Children's Theater:"The Little Mermaid" and "The Light in the Library" - 12/12/2014
$8 Admission. All ages show. This season, we have two short plays for our Children's Theater. These productions will be cast with children age 7-12. Both plays are produced together as one production. THE LITTLE MERMAID: This beautiful adaptation skips the well-known happy ending to tell the fairy tale as Hans Christian Andersen originally wrote it. Having fallen in love with the prince she saved from drowning, the Little Mermaid makes a deal with the sea-witch to give up her voice in exchange for human legs. If the Little Mermaid speaks while she's on land, the spell will be broken and her legs will quickly turn back into fins. What will she do when she meets the prince? THE LIGHT IN THE LIBRARY: Talk about literature coming to life! Two students suspect something is going on in the library at night, so they hide after it closes and discover that it's haunted by a silent ghost who helps them bring fictional characters to life: Jim Hawkins from Treasure Island, Humpty Dumpty, the Mad Hatter, Alice in Wonderland, Anne of Green Gables, Romeo, and more! Then- shiver me timbers! - Long John Silver is inadvertently brought to life and things go WAY WRONG. All that's necessary for a happy ending is courage, ingenuity...and ONE more character brought to life. Who will that be?...more info

Teen Theater: "Edgar Allen Poe: TELL-TALE" - 12/12/2014
$8 Admission. All ages show. Winner of the Mildred and Albert Panowski Playwriting Competition, TELL-TALE is based on the life and death of Edgar Allen Poe. It is Poe's last confession, in which the famous author is forced to look at his life, his mistakes, his outrageous behaviors, and, in the end, he seeks peach and finds it by way of the only method he had in life - telling a story. Poe casts himself as the dashing, tragic hero, but as the play progresses, his own memories slip from his control, turning on him and forcing him to face his life as it was, and not how he wishes it had been. TELL-TALE has a fluidity that keeps the audience completely engaged. This production will be case with children age 13-18....more info
