Unplug Illinois is a statewide movement from Illinois Park and Recreation Association designed to get people to “unplug” from electronic devices and get out and engage with one another through active play opportunities at their local park and recreation agency. Unplug Illinois promotes healthier lifestyles, sustainable environments, thriving economies and engaged communities.
The benefits of unplugging from technology drives people to plug in to community, plug in to activity and plug in to friends. Unplugging has been shown to help improve your quality of life, help you feel more recharged every day, help you sleep better and improve your interpersonal communication. “We are celebrating Unplug Illinois during July and encourage the community to explore and take advantage of all unplugged fun the Tinley Park-Park District offers,” said Executive Director, Shawn Roby.
The Tinley Park-Park District is grateful for the support of Republic Bank and Crumbl Cookies in providing the Unplug Illinois giveaways and raffle prizes.
