The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) is a pro-disclosure law intended for all citizens to have the right to access public documents of their government.
Under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), all requests must be in writing and directed to the Tinley Park-Park District one of the following ways:

The statutory period for complying with or denying a FOIA request shall not begin until the FOIA Officer receives the request. Under Section 6 of the FOIA, the first 50 pages are free for black and white copies, and any additional pages will cost 15 cents per page. The charge for color or abnormal-size copies will be the actual charge for contracting with a vendor to perform the photocopying services.
The Tinley Park-Park District is a unit of local government Incorporated and organized under the laws of the State of Illinois. Its purpose is to provide leisure services and leisure facilities for the residents within its boundaries.
The Tinley Park-Park District is located in the Village of Tinley Park, a southwest suburb of Chicago, just 30 minutes southwest of downtown Chicago. The Park District maintains 40 parks, 34 ball fields and several amenities.
The Tinley Park-Park District’s operating budget for 2024-25 is $15,430,290, which does not include the $15,000,000 Mental Health Center remediation project, which is being paid for by a grant from the Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity. The budget for Capital Projects is $4,842,975, again, which does not include the Mental Health Property remediation project, and the budget for Debt Services is $1,165,000.
The Park District also operates Tinley Fitness, Landmark Museum and Church, McCarthy Recreation Building, Tinley Park Performing Arts Center, Tinley Junction Miniature Golf and Batting Cages, Vogt Visual Arts Center, The Extreme Skate Park, and White Water Canyon Water Park.
The Tinley Park-Park District employs 35 full-time employees, 128 part-time employees, and approximately 247 seasonal employees.
