The Tinley Park-Park District and the South Suburban Special Recreation Association are hosting Kindness Day on Saturday, August 27, 2022. The event is all about making a difference in your community by showing kindness to and inclusion of everyone. The local author of “Included,” Megan Prendergast, will read her book, which teaches children about inclusion, kindness empathy and
compassion. The book’s message shows kids that while others may look different, what is on the inside that matters most.
Join us from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm at The Band Shell located at Tony Bettenhausen Recreation Center, 8125 W. 171st Street for a morning of fun. Try out adapted sports like wheelchair basketball, sit volleyball and goal ball. Help us color a monster mural all about inclusion. Custom tie dye a bandana, paint a kindness rock and play Kindness BINGO. The event is free and open to the public. In case or rain, the event will move into the Bettenhausen Recreation Center.
All Fall programs are open for registration!
