Tinley Park, Illinois: The Tinley Park Performing Arts Center is holding auditions for its spring, 2020 performance series. Auditions take place at the theater located at 16801 S. 80th Avenue, Tinley Park, Illinois.
The Community Theater will present Evelyn in Purgatory, a dark comedy by Topher Payne. The story takes place in a fictional Reassignment Center. When a complaint is filed against Evelyn Reid, she winds up in the Reassignment Center where she encounters other teachers in the same situation. They form an unlikely alliance that leaves them ready to face life outside. Roles in this production are for actors age 18 and over. Auditions will take place on Saturday, January 25 from 3-5:30 pm. On Saturday, February 1, all auditions for youth theater productions take place. Kidz Theater presents Around the World in 8 Plays for actors ages six to nine. Audition time is from 9-10:30 am. Auditions for Camp Stowaways performed by Children’s Theater are from 10:30 am-12 pm for ages 9-13. From 12:30-2 pm, teens age 13-18 are invited to audition for Usher-A Totally Teen Comedy. Musical Theater is open to ages 9-15; Musical Theater auditions for The Stinky Cheese Man and other Fairly Stupid Tales happenc from 2-5 p m. Descriptions of plots, rehearsal dates and performance dates are available on the Performing Arts page at www.tinleyparkdistrict.org. All youth plays are open to everyone, with or without acting experience.
Prior registration is required for everyone wishing to audition for any of the youth plays. The Tinley Park Performing Arts Center is the home of Tinley Park Community Theater, and the all of the Park District’s youth theater troupes, as well as many performing arts classes and programs.
