Memorial Tree, Bench, and Brick Program
Through the Park District, memorial trees, park benches, and brick pavers can be purchased in memory of a loved one, to commemorate a special occasion, to honor an outstanding accomplishment or as a gift that will last a lifetime. Individuals, groups and organizations are all invited to participate in this program.
Purchase a Memorial Tree, Bench, or Brick
Trees
Each tree purchase comes with a commemorative certificate and an engraved leaf added to the Memorial Tree display in the lobby of the Tony Bettenhausen Recreation Center.
The cost of a memorial tree is $350, which includes purchase, planting maintenance, the certificate and gold leaf. You can request the type of tree and the park where you would like it planted. The exact location is determined by the Park District based on need and availability. Trees are planted in the spring and fall each year. Orders for the current year must be submitted no later than August 31st.

Benches
A memorial bench purchase comes with an engraved plaque attached to the bench and a commemorative certificate.
The cost of a memorial bench is $1,800, which includes purchase, installation, maintenance, the certificate and plaque. You can request the park where you would like the bench placed. The exact location is determined by the Park District based on need and availability. Orders for the installation of a bench in the current year must be submitted no later than August 31st.

Bricks
Memorial bricks can only be installed at our Canine Campus (18200 84th Ave.) or our Vogt Visual Arts Center (17420 S. 67th Ct.). There are only two installments each year, Spring and Fall. Selecting the location does not mean you can select the exact space.
The cost of a memorial brick is $100, which includes purchase, installation, and maintenance. Bricks are 4×8. The engraving space is 3 lines/13 letters including spaces and will be in Franklin Gothic script.
