Tinley Park, Illinois: Tinley Park-Park District is the place to be for pumpkin lovers this Halloween! The district is offering two fun events for families to attend this week!
Kick off your Halloween week events with the brand-new Pumpkin Plunge at the Tinley Fitness indoor pool, 8125 W. 171st Street. On Sunday, October 27 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., families can enjoy a spooky afternoon filled with mysterious music, ghostly games, boo-tiful treat bags and plunging into the pumpkin patch pool to pick a pumpkin to take home! Registration is required to attend this event. You can register at the Bettenhausen Rec Center or online at www.tinleyparkdistrict.org for Program 312113A. The fee is $18 for all children and $5 for adults who are not Tinley Fitness members; there is no charge for members.
Why trash your pumpkin when you can smash it? After all the trick-or-treating is over and it is time to dispose of your jack-o-lantern, the Park District has more fun in store! Bring your unpainted pumpkin out to the Community Park parking lot at 8125 W. 171st Street on Saturday, November 2 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. for the free Pumpkin Smash! The Park District will provide a selection of tools for you to smash that pumpkin to smithereens! Homewood Disposal will haul away the mess for composting. No registration is required for this free event!
Tinley Park-Park District Marketing Manager Carol Bradtke stated, “We want to offer unique and exciting programs for families to enjoy outside of the usual Halloween events. Both of these events are just the thing to get families together for fun.”
