Tinley Park Programs

Tinley Park-Park District offers Summer Mini-Camps

Tinley Park, Illinois: Whether it’s sports, art, theater or STEM activities, Tinley Park-Park District has a summer program for children of just about every age and interest!

If you love art, try one of the art camps such as Wild World of Animals or Summer Art Camp where you’ll explore a variety of projects and themes sure to spark the imagination. Lego-lovers will love Bricks 4 Kidz® camps that cover Minecraft, transformation creations, amusement parks, arcade adventures, rockets and dinosaurs. For the scientists and engineers, try STEAMin Up Drawing to experience the exciting opportunities in these fields.

Tinley Park Performing Arts Center is looking for budding actors and actresses! For ages 8 to 18 there is a Drama Camp and Master Acting Course in July. Participants will work on technique, character development and vocal skills all while producing a swashbuckling play complete with pirates. No previous experience required! Camp ends with a performance of the play on July 28. For the younger crowd, try our Happily Ever After camps in early August.

You can get your summer started with our Chicago Blackhawks Clinic. This one day event on Saturday, May 19 will be a fun, skill-oriented experience for local youth players on an inflatable rink! The camp will be at Lewis Park, 16801 Normandy Drive from 10 am – 12 pm. Kids grades Pre-K to 8th are invited to participate in this free program. Equipment will be provided by the Park District. After this camp, you’ll be ready for the outdoor co-ed ball hockey league that begins June 18.

Are you interested in trying a new sport or improving at your favorite? There are camps for Pre-K and Kindergarten through 9th grade offered! Track, Field & Fitness camps run for two weeks each in June and July. Is Baseball or soccer more your thing? There are numerous programs for those just learning the rules and basics to the more advanced players…there’s softball camp, too! Flag Football and volleyball camps are also available. Don’t forget basketball camp so you are ready to join the new summer basketball league beginning in July!

Be sure to also look into the Tag On activities offered weekdays from 3:15 – 4:15 after most day camp programs end. These outdoor programs cover archery, mini-golf, dodge ball, capture the flag and more. Don’t forget about the Tinley Park-Park District Slice of Summer selfie contest! Will you be the ‘Lucky Dog’ to win one of the prizes? Start snapping those pictures. Whether you’re playing at a playground, walking one of the many pathways, shooting a round of miniature golf or splashing around the water park, there are countless opportunities to catch a slice of summer fun photo at Tinley Park-Park District.
